Kjeld Duits: @Monik: Marie Antoinette and her period did indeed come to mind. ^_-
(: Monik :): I usually don’t take it so seriously, but this time the first thing I had to do was to check Atelier Pierrot online. Before I took the rest of the journey through the shoots. I just adore such draped fabrics… Light makes them look always like some beautiful, timeless sculptures – from the greatest sculptors of all time. And most of all I really love the background chosen for this creation. It’s truly fascinating how contrastive they are: very modern environment, and a girl just like from Versailles… Brilliant combination! Is anyone yet thinking about Marie Antoinette but me? I thought so ;)

Kjeld Duits: @Carey: The name doesn’t ring a bell, but I’ve forgotten a lot of names and might know them by sight.
Carey: @Kjeld Duits Did you know the Graham girls?
Kjeld Duits: @Carey: Oh, that’s a while ago. We probably know some of the same people, although I can’t think of names right now. I arrived in ’82, just two years after you left. Tokyo’s where the all action is. Good choice. ^_-

Egar: It’s not the Queen of Mexico. It’s the “Mother of Mexico” (La madresita de México. I have a silkscreen printing factory….
Kjeld Duits: @Alexandra: I like your description!
Kjeld Duits: @Eli D.: Thank you very much. Both for your kind words about my work, and for identifying the image. I would never have guessed; I really need to learn more about Mexico! I quickly did a search and found the following information: Our Lady of Guadalupe (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe), also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe (Spanish: Virgen de Guadalupe) is a celebrated Roman Catholic icon of the Virgin Mary. (Wikipedia) My dear little son, I love you. I desire you to know who I am. I am the ever-virgin Mary, Mother of the true God who gives life and maintains its existence. Attributed to the Virgin of Guadalupe (Catholic Online) She identified herself as the ever virgin Holy Mary. (Our Lady of Guadalupe) It appears the Virgin of Guadalupe is indeed the Virgin Mary. ^_-
