Miato Moofa: i love the onigiri pin on his bag!
Kjeld Duits: @Etsune: Yes, Japanese tend to be quite sensitive to the different shades and tones of colors. Did you read our series on traditional Japanese colors?
Etsune: First of all, I have to say that he has really nice eyes! The shape is so pretty! And I love his hair and glasses too! So stylish~ Anyway, I’m really loving the colors! I’m diggin the blue-on-blue trend, which I’ve been seeing frequently on various japanese fashion websites and would LOVE to try! Normally, two shades of one color look really odd together, but the blue-on-blue trend looks so crisp and fresh! The brown coat also really adds to the scheme… I think this really goes to show that even if you are wearing something simple, you can really make it stand out with a good use of color.

morgan: this is really amazing. i love how large his scarf is, and i really like the way it makes his upper body look larger and then his long coat and shirt make his body look SO long. i really really love this.
Yukishou: I love this look, comfy looking.
Etsune: @Darth: Heh, same thing here in America. Only so many people have a style here that is just not creative any more, if you ask me! Many girls here wear ugg boots, miss me jeans, and a v-neck top or something of the sort, and its always the same, boring thing. I know that the way I dress at school, I look completely out of place because i don’t wear ANYTHING like what most people wear. I don’t even wear jeans anymore (because I feel too restricted in them…) And I honestly think that scarf is my ultimate favorite thing about his outfit. I just love scarves, like i stated earlier….

Kjeld Duits: @jay I always tried to photograph people that I felt had something special. It was not just about the clothes and hairstyles, I looked for a presence. So, although I did not foresee Kaneko’s career, I am not surprised. A number of people that I photographed on the street ended up with remarkable careers. Like musician Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, fashion model Saya Akasaka and artist Mori Chack.
jay: Amazing! She would later go on to become a brilliant singer-songwriter and musician. Did you have any inkling that she had that future ahead of her?
Etsune: The ribbon makes me nervous, though.

Kjeld Duits: @Petite Sam: I think her incredible cheerfulness is expressed in her fashion style.
Petite Sam: Love this one! The lines and pops of colour are perfect :D I’m not a huge colour person myself, I usually stick to neutrals, but this makes me want to go out and buy some hot pink shoes __
Kjeld Duits: @kagitsune: Yes, I loved shooting the styles of the 1990s and early years of this century. Indeed, very colorful. Still lots of photos of that in our photo-archive.
