Anybody can study here, but you will need at least an intermediate level in Japanese. Most schools require that you pass a certain level of the Japanese Proficiency Test.

I think you mean scholarship? I don’t believe they do. But I suggest that you ask them for one directly.

@Ladorina: I haven’t been able to find any organized fashion internship programs, although individual companies may offer them. I suggest that you contact fashion companies directly, preferably by writing letters with your resume attached. Good luck!

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knew about any fashion summer internships or summer programs that i could attend. If you have any information please let me know. thanks :)

Dany
May 25, 2010 (101 days ago)

@Dany: I know that companies approach students at Bunka Fukusou Gakuin with offers of internships. But the concept is not very well established in Japan, and many companies just see it as a chance to get low level workers for free. It barely helps to gain experience.

Unless you plan to study at Bunka, I suggest you research the Japanese fashion industry and approach companies yourself by writing individual letters and than following them up with phone calls. Don’t send e-mails, you won’t be taken seriously.

Good luck!

@Kjeld Duits:
Thank you so much for your advice. it really helped me.

i would also like to ask you if you know about any companies that are accepting interns.

Thank you anyhow.

Dany

@Dany: Although I have heard names bandied around, I am afraid I don’t know any specific companies that accept interns. Like I wrote above, research the industry and write the companies that you’re truly interested in. Instead of eating whatever is left on the table, I think you’ll do much better when you go hunting yourself.
