Urban menswear brand between 2004 and 2006

Menswear label Iliad (イリアド) was the child of Gentaro Noda. Born in in Tokyo in 1979, Noda left to study in England at the age of 13. He graduated from London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, before he returned to Japan.

Founded in 2004, menswear label Iliad (イリアド) focused on casual streetwear. With a minimalist look, Iliad’s collections were compared to European menswear labels. The brand collaborated with Japanese retail giant Uniqlo in 2006 and in the same year also released a denim line.

Things looked promising for this designer. But because of trademark problems, Noda was forced to discontinue the brand soon after. In 2007, he launched his new brand, Heath.
