Chic and feminine Japanese brand

Asty Inc. launched women’s wear brand YLANG YLANG (イランイラン) in February 1998. Ryunosuke Aoyagi (1976), who had joined the company in July 1997, became Chief Designer.

Currently, the Chief Designer is Ema Yamagata. Born in Osaka in 1981, Yamagata grew up in New York, Düsseldorf, and Milan. She graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Theatre (Costume Design) and from the Fashion Institute of Technology with an A.A.S. in Fashion Design. After working for Nicole Miller Collection as a designer, she joined YLANG YLANG in 2010.

YLANG YLANG specializes in feminine and European inspired clothing, and started a menswear line in 2005.

Ylang Ylang is the name of a plant native to the Philippines and Indonesia. It is often mistranslated as flower of all flowers. In its designs, the brand “attempts to capture the glamorous, refined, elegant, and attractive scent drifting from this flower.”
