How long does a trend usually last in Japan?

There are so many trends all happening at the same time. Some last for years, others fade away within weeks. In general, things tend to last longer in Osaka than in Harajuku, though. Tokyo people are more concerned about what others think of them, Osaka people usually like to do their own stuff. Read this article: Wagado.
