It is like you took a trip to one of the poles. That looks frighteningly cold...

No kidding! It looks unbelievably beautiful. I used to participate in skating marathons when I still lived in the Netherlands. Long tours through the beautiful Dutch winter landscape with the occasional windmill rising out of the snow. When I see this photo I want to go skating!

Thanks Kjeld. But I've been there and seen it all by my own eyes. So, what's the reason stops you from doing it Wink
Strange, but when I see such scenery, without people. It looks more natural and lively. Sometimes people in the "frame" can ruin all...Maybe it's because of differences in genres... Wink

It's kind of a long walk from Japan, don't you think? Wink

I was just kidding, Dynamax. Yes, there are skating rinks in Japan as well. Actually, the championships skating are taking place in Nagano this very moment. And in Hokkaido the lakes are frozen over and lots of skating is done there as well.

Yes, it is much fun to watch as people are very enthusiastic. I prefer doing sports over watching, but I was the Olympic Attaché for the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano in 1998 and enjoyed myself a lot.
