JAPANESE STREETS 2.0
On September 1, JAPANESE STREETS will get a new face and new features.

This screen shot shows what our new entry page will look like. The photo will change each visit. Inside the site, the section names that you see on the left will be on top of the page. Sub categories will be in a left column. As a result, the site will be much easier to use.

There will also be a few new features. But we keep them as a surprise for right now.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks, dynamax. It is a completely different look. Not only is it much easier to use, but I think it also looks more open, friendly and inviting.

I hope so, dynamax. The community was extremely active before. But starting in 2004 I was away a lot for covering big disasters like the tsunami and the earthquake in Pakistan (I am a photo-journalist). In Pakistan I became really ill and after my return I wasn't able to work full-time for over a year. So I wasn't able to pay as much attention to JAPANESE STREETS as I wanted and should have. Hopefully, with the new design, new features and my health a bit better now, we can make the community even more active than before. I will need your help!

Photo-journalis very dangerous work (as i can imagine),but maybe very interesting. This is sad story, but i hope that ill is gone and never came back. And i think that "without move no life",so if this site still keep move there will be life...and comunity also.
Heads up...:)))

Thanks, dynamix. The doctors haven't found yet what bothers me, but I also hope that I will completely recover one day. And I guess you are right about photo-journalism being dangerous work. But you can get hit by a car on your way home from a regular day of work as well (as I experienced several years ago). I survived the earthquake in Kobe (where I live) in 1995. At that time I heard a story about a young Japanese student who was safe in New Zealand at the time of the quake. His parents' house was badly damaged so he came back to Japan to help. He was hit by a car while he was loading things from his parents house into a car. He died. It is a very sad story. He was so lucky to be save in NZ during the quake, but death got to him anyway. It kind of makes you fatalistic. When it comes, it comes. No need to worry about it. So I also don't feel that my job is dangerous, although I guess it is...

I agree about that. What may happen,it happen. No one can't know about what awaits tomorrow.
Maybe better do something at maximum whille can today.Destiny, life line...I don't now, sometime i think about it.
But one russian singer have word in his song - "...watch yourself,be carefull...".That song about,i can say "fate".
ah-h.that doctors,they always stick in something...I hope you'll be OK.Yeah...

Thanks, snowqueen. JS is actually pretty active (over 100,000 visitors a month), but the photo forum has a lot more viewers than posters these days, although the number of active posters seems to be picking up again recently. Please do tell people. Smile
