JAPANESE STREETS RENEWED

We are redesigning JAPANESE STREETS. We will start with a different lay-out and later also change or add functions.

Please tell us what kind of changes you would like to see on JAPANESE STREETS. If there are functions you like from other sites, don't hesitate to say so.

The redesign is for the WHOLE site, not only the PHOTO FORUM.

Hey Kjeld!

Im glad i got here and got time again to be here and checkt often and be part of this great community.

It will be cool to have video uploads too, like youtube... maybe only featuring fashion and j-related so it will be more controled and will not be as all stuff about.
The pics i find them so cool, and i will not change anything about them, the rules are just OK and all just share such a cool pics.

I would only would love to have a forum, not only fashion and j related but all topics forum.

regards!!!!

Hi there, MegaJoe,

So good to see you again. How are things? Still busy?

Good idea about the videos. Technically, it has always been possible to upload videos. I will make a new category to encourage it. We also put the videos back in our own PHOTO section. Hopefully, we can soon upload new ones. (UPDATE: our current server doesn't allow files over 2 MB. I am looking for solutions. Will keep you posted)

I have been wondering about a forum, so It is good to hear that you think it is still a good idea. Actually, we have had a forum on standby for over a year already. I will do so brainstorming with the designers.

Thanks for the input, MegaJoe!

Some comments I received by e-mail:

1. In the PHOTOS & VIDEOS section there are a lot of dates. Could you group years together, and then the months or something? Because in the end you will have a huge list of dates, and people won't remember which ones they already saw.

2. The pictures are nice. I would seperate male and female, and then a section for both. And sections for gothic lolita and free style.

3. In the DVD section, you should get moonchild with hyde and gackt...*^^* ive heard its quite good, but i havent seen it ... im a hard core japanese fan >_< sometimes i scare myself.....

THANKS, keep the comments coming.

hi kjeld

i think u should do something like myspace but with the same control cause myspace has gotten out of hand.
i think i m at a lost in putting editing my photos.so ithnik ur site needs more user friendly methods but overall i like the way u set limits n do real editing n moderatorship

improve on the color,,more japanese rice paperlike
with red n white

jan

p.s. do u know a website of any fashion design agents in japan.pipol who promote designers' work?

Hi Jan,

Many thanks for your excellent feedback. We are trying hard to improve the navigation and thereby the user friendliness. The Photo Forum is difficult for us to change right now, I am afraid, because we license it from a software company "as is".

In regards to the colors I can make you happy. We will use white and kind of a pinkish purple, close to red.

I am not aware of any Japanese fashion design agents, but I will keep my eyes and ears open!

HI

I GOT ANOTHER IDEA WHY NOT USE WHITE AND RED MOSTLY TO BE MORE JAPAN.AND MORE LINEAR STUFF.
THNX FOR A WONDERFUL WORK OF MODERATING.I THINK IN MOST SITES THERE IS NOT MUCH OF THIS.

P.S.

I JUST WANT TO SAY
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SANTA CLAUS ONLY JOE PESCI WITH A BASEBALL BAT.

You could make it so that the categories and subcategories in photos and videos are in a side bar so they're easy to click instead of people like me (lmao) forgetting what month of photos they're looking at. if that makes ANY sense whatso ever!!

Done. Not 100% of what you asked, but very close! I don't think that you will get lost anymore.

Thanks to everybody for the many tips. Also the ones that I received by e-mail over the past year. Wherever possible, I have tried very hard to implement your suggestions. Some suggestions, like the one to create something like myspace, I am still working on. Thanks to you, JAPANESE STREETS is an awesome place to visit and will become even better.

No kidding? I am interviewed a lot, but I can't remember any recent interviews from NZ... Usually, I don't find out about these things, so this is nice. Thanks. Do you know the name of the magazine, and do you have perhaps have a scan? We will list it on our news page!

That is nice. I like being someone's inspiration.
