Hey, how come you never post pictures of yourself?
I'm off to Japan this week, what city are you based in? Could we meet up or are you very busy with your work. Think it would be great if you could share your fashion tips, take care

Hi Sayuri, we have a rule for staff not to post. Besides, I am a shy kid! Meeting up would be fun. I live in the Osaka-Kobe area. Are you coming this way? By the way, setting up a meeting on the board might not be a good idea... You can find my e-mail address at FAQS --> ABOUT US --> Contact Us
Speak to you soon!

No, I approached her, explained about JAPANESE STREETS, asked for permission and told her where to sit and to use her phone. You usually get all the people standing in the same way in the photos, so I try to get some variation. But I soon run out of ideas and I must also deal with people's extreme shyness.

I think it looks natural, especially her expression, so that's why I thought it was a candid...
Is it a rule that you need permission to publish pics?
If you don't mind me asking.

Thanks. It is quite hard to make people that you approach on the street feel so much at ease that it looks like a candid shot. Photos that are used editorially, in principle don't require a letter of release. But I never know how a future client will use the photograph, so I ask for permission. Besides, it seems the right thing to do considering that the photos are posted on the internet.
