Kjeld Duits: @Melinoe: Wikipedia has an entry on Announcer. ^_- Maiko, by the way, works as an announcer with a radio station.
Melinoe: I think she is really pretty and I love her style. I was also wondering what an announcer does. Anybody knows?
Lloyd Lim: She’s made an awesome statement with her style. Love it!

50 Faces from the Street

I have photographed thousands of people for their unique street fashion in the past ten years. Thousands of faces. Here are fifty of them.

Kjeld Duits: @Katherine J. Barr: Thank you. Number 34 is Kumamiki eating crepe. She is super cute.
Katherine J. Barr: great photos. ‘love them all especially #34
Laurice Anderson: This faces are very inspiring. My favorite is #43. Her face is so sweet and angelic! I don’t like faces that seem to be funky or metallic.

Kjeld Duits: @Dörrie Banana: “ I’m seeing these necklaces with a cross symbole a lot lately. They seem to be very popular right now.” — They have been around for a while already. People here don’t really see them as a religious symbol. “Didn’t notice the comment either until Maria quoted it” — Maria is incredibly observant. I’ll try to sneak in comments like this more often, so you can find one, too. ^_-
Dörrie Banana: A really beautiful person and indeed, such a face is priceless (Didn’t notice the comment either until Maria quoted it). It’s really the unusual cut of the T-shirt (or is it a top, I wasn’t sure… well the piece of cloth with the really big holes ^^) that makes this outfit absolutly eye catching. She combined it really well with the brightly coloured T-shirt below and her tights, socks and shoes. The accesoires match the outfit well, too. Gosh, it’s just perfect! I’m seeing these necklaces with a cross symbole a lot lately. They seem to be very popular right now. All in all she makes a friendly and bright expression even though her clothes seem to be more rock / punk, which is often associated with being different and somewhat isolating oneself ( at least in Germany). But she manages to give this style a friendly and open atmosphere. I like it :-)
Kjeld Duits: @Maria: I just felt humorous for a second. ^_- And I love the look in her eyes in that shot.

Kjeld Duits: @akika: Looking forward to doing more shoots with Akari. Her school is very near the JS office and I’ll probably run into her again.
akika: Very attractive. The type of girl that will look good in anything she wears. The hair cut and colour are fantastic.
Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Haha. We can’t live WITH them. ^_- I

Melinoe: she and her style are so cute
Kjeld Duits: @non sibi: I love those shoes too, but they are too expensive for me. So, I am just wondering how a student can afford to buy those. — When I ask, people usually tell me that they have a part-time job and saved. Often for many months. They are truly dedicated fashion lovers.
non sibi: I love those shoes too, but they are too expensive for me. So, I am just wondering how a student can afford to buy those. I envy her.

Modeling at the Japan Fashion Week

When illustrator Brandon Reierson, better known by his pen name Lactose Intoler-Art, was watching the crowd in Tokyo’s Harajuku, a designer approached him. “Would you like to model?” he asked.

Petra: Yeah, they’re awesome! I think I’m going to steal the idea, and just sew something similar, with those dinosaur spikes at the sides.
Lactose Intoler-Art: Hi Petra, thanks! They are actually two separate pieces. The shorts are by a Japanese brand called VEVEROPPARUUU (ベベロッパル in Japanese), and I just layered them over a pair of basic skinny black jeans. I’m glad you like them!
Petra: I love your pants, Brandon. Mind telling me the brand? :D
